SINN FÉIN is standing seven candidates in the Seanad elections to push for proper reform of the Seanad, including the introduction of universal voting rights.
The seven are:-
➤ Pádraig Mac Lochlainn from Donegal – Industrial and Commercial Panel;
➤ Rose Conway-Walsh from Mayo – Agriculture Panel;
➤ Trevor Ó Clochartaigh from Galway – also on the Agriculture Panel;
➤ Fintan Warfield from Dublin – Culture and Education Panel;
➤ Niall Ó Donnghaile from Belfast – Administrative Panel;
➤ Máire Devine from Dublin – Labour Panel;
➤ Paul Gavan from Limerick – also on the Labour Panel.
Sinn Féin TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh said Sinn Féin's list of candidates for the Seanad elections come from across the four provinces of Ireland.
“We will use the Seanad as a platform to put forward Sinn Féin’s policies, including protecting our most vulnerable citizens, introducing a fair tax system and investing in high-quality public services with a priority of solving the crises in our health and housing services,” the Sinn Féin Chief Whip said.
“We will also push for proper reform of the Seanad, including the introduction of universal voting rights.”
He said that the candidates are all Sinn Féin activists in their own communities who are “highly capable and will make great senators”.
