The Irish Volunteer - Óglach na hÉireann Volume 2 - Number 59
At its meeting on 16 January the General Council of the Volunteers issued a statement that the British government, having failed in the policy of deporting Volunteers from Ireland, is now arresting and detaining men without charge or trial.
The ‘Notes from Headquarters’ column reminds Volunteers of the importance of mobilisation practice: “Every Commander must be satisfied that he is in a position to call out every man in his unity, with full arms, ammunition and equipment in the minimum time.”
