Video – Give FG/Labour Government a clear message that water charges must be scrapped

SINN FÉIN has called on the public to give the Fine Gael/Labour Government an unequivocal and clear message that water charges must be scrapped by taking part in the national Right2Water demonstration outside the Dáil at 1pm on 10 December.

Speaking to An Phoblacht at Leinster House, Mary Lou McDonald TD said:

"We're asking people and communities from right across the state to come along and make sure their voices are heard."

She said the protest would be peaceful, colourful, family-friendly and determined:

"There is no doubt that the people have the Government on the run on this issue," the Dublin Central TD said.

"Nobody should be asked to pay for domestic water.  These charges have to be abolished. The Government still haven't heard or understood that. So come along on 10 December and give them a clear and unequivocal message that water charges must be scrapped immediately."
