Video – 100,000 march in Dublin against water tax
AN ESTIMATED 100,000 people marched through Dublin City on Saturday in opposition to the Fine Gael and Labour Government's unfair water tax.

The march was organised by the right2water campaign and supported by a number of parties, including Sinn Féin.
Sinn Féin Finance spokesperson Pearse Doherty TD says that figures released by the Government at midnight Friday show the Budget deficit is lower than previously thought and this gives even more scope for scrapping water charges:
"The figures show that, without any policy change at all, the deficit would come in at 2.4% in 2015, which is much lower than the required 3%. This shows that the Government is exceeding its target by over €1billion," he said.
"This additional leeway must be used to ease the burden on hard-pressed families and invest in public services. The first item on the agenda should be the scrapping of the water charges."
