Gaza – 5 things you can do
Don't be silent – be active
SINCE July 8th, over 1,300 Palestinians have been killed and more than 7,000 have been injured by Israel’s continued offensive and the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza.
Over 75% of those killed have been innocent civilians and children.
Gaza is a living hell and the world's largest open-air prison.
Ó 8 Iúil anuas maraíodh 1,300 Palaistíneach agus gortaíodh 7,000 eile mar thoradh díreach ar ionsaí leanúnach agus buamáil gan idirdhealú Iosrael ar Gaza.
I measc na marbh, 75% sibhialtaigh agus páistí.
Is ifreann laethúil é Gaza dá mhuintir agus is é an príosún is mó faoin aer, ar domhan.
Don’t be silent – be active. Here are five things you can do as a citizen:-
Ná bígí ciúin – bígí gníomhach. Seo iad cúig rudaí is féidir leat a dhéanamh mar shaoránach:-
Donate / Síntiúis – Clothes, medicines, food and other vital supplies are in critically short supply. Donate items directly through local collection drives or give a financial donation through Irish Medical Aid for Palestine (www.irishmap.ie) or other registered charity.
Boycott – Don’t buy Israeli-made goods and avoid companies that aid the occupation of Palestine through investment. Always check the country of origin label on your fruit and vegetables in particular.
Protest and Solidarity / Agóid agus Dlúthpháirtíocht – Be out and on the streets, make it known to the decision-makers and the media that the Irish people oppose Israeli actions in Gaza and let the Palestinian people know we stand with them.
Lobby / Stocaireacht – Contact your local politicians, tell them you want your local councillor, TD, MLA, MEP or MP to do all in their power to support Gaza. Ask them to put down motions and support any that may come up
Social Media / Na Meáin Shóisialta – Use your Facebook, Twitter and other social media accounts to get the real story of the slaughter in Gaza out there. Engage with your friends and followers and get them active.
