Sinn Féin most popular party with younger voters

SINN FÉIN is the most popular party in the state with younger voters, a new poll by Red-C Research and Paddy Power has found.
With voters aged between 18 – 34 years old, Sinn Féin leads the pack with 29% saying they would give the party their first preference. Fine Gael is the next most popular with younger voters on 25%, Fianna Fáil on 15% and Labour on just 8%. Independents and others take 23%
Overall Sinn Féin was the only party to see an increase in its vote in the first poll of the new year – up 3% to 18% statewide - despite a sustained media campaign against them throughout December.
The overall results of the poll show:
Fine Gael 28% (-1); Fianna Fáil 22% (=); Sinn Féin 18% (+3); Labour Party 10% (-2); Independents & Others 22% (=)
