Good Food March in Brussels

Martina Anderson MEP joined farmers and activists from all over Europe when they converged on the European Parliament in Brussels to push for a food policy that is fairer to small family farms and kinder to the environment and developing countries.
The Good Food March — which was supported by the culinary Slow Food movement and Friends of the Earth — also highlighted the need for increased sustainability and a move towards food sovereignty, something which is particularly resonant given the current grain crisis.
Speaking from the Good Food March, Martina said:

“I am delighted to see farmers taking their mission directly to the door of the European Parliament, highlighting the importance of small family farms and the dangers of food speculation.
“It’s important to remember that, with all these rules and regulations, we are still talking about the food that ends up on our plate, our culinary heritage, and this is what we are fighting to protect.”
