51 Tibetans have set themselves on fire, demanding freedom and the return of the Dalai Lama from exile

TIBET’S ‘Flame of Truth’ relay has been welcomed to Tallaght in Dublin by local Dáil deputy and Sinn Féin spokesperson of Foreign Affairs Seán Crowe TD, Sinn Féin Mayor of South Dublin County Council Cathal King, and Tallaght Councillor Máire Devine.

TibetMapThe ‘Flame of Truth’ aims to raise international public consciousness of the crisis in Tibet where there has been a wave of self-immolations in which 51 Tibetans have set themselves on fire, demanding freedom from the People’s Republic of China and the return of the Dalai Lama from exile.

The relay, after traveling around hundreds of cities all over the world, will conclude on World Human Rights Day (December 10th) with the submission of petitions simultaneously to the UN Headquarters in New York City, the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, and the UN information office in New Delhi.
