Marching on the web

This year's Orange marches will be monitored on the internet by a group called The Irish Republican Web Committee (http://www.serve.com/irwc/). They have unveiled the Orange Watch Web Site (http://www.serve.com/irwc/orange/) which is described as ``a cooperative effort between a group of online Irish Republican activists. It serves as an alternative source to the mainstream media, the government of Britain and the Six County establishment.''

The page will use news reports from a variety of sources, as well as historical documents and direct statements from ``self-professed online Orangemen'' and their counterparts in the Six Counties.

The group says the page is ``political in nature, but no political party participates in, or is supported by, the Orange Watch Web Site''.
