International guests for Sinn Féin Ard Fheis
The Sinn Féin International Department’s main international guests who will address this year’s Ard Fheis are Baleka Mbete, one of the ANC’s National Chairs, who is also former deputy president; Dr As’ad Abdul Rahman, who is a member of the executive committee of the PLO, and Katalina Madriagia, from the Basque Country.
On Saturday 6 March, 1pm to 2pm, the Sinn Féin International Department will host a Palestinian fringe meeting. This will take place at the RDS in Dodder suite B. Sinn Féin Middle East desk director, Pat Sheehan, will chair proceedings. Bairbre de Brún will be speaking along with Dr As’ad Abdul Rahman, member of the executive committee of the PLO, and a member of the recently formed pro-Palestinian pressure group, Sadaka, Philip O’Connor.
Copies of Gerry Adams’ Gaza report, from his visit to the area last year, and Emma Clancy’s December ‘09 An Phoblacht article, outlining the previous year’s work by the party on this issue, will be available at this meeting.
