Attack on Polish household condemned

West Belfast MLA and Sinn Féin spokesperson on Ethnic Minorities Jennifer McCann condemned a “racially motivated” attack on a house in Belfast on 12 June in which members of the Polish Community lived.
“Irish people have settled in countries all over the world and have welcomed people from other countries here.
“Unfortunately there are a small number of narrow minded people who choose to attack people simply because they come from a different cultural background.
“Diversity allows the economy to grow and develops the fabric of society. There is no place for those who carry out racial attacks and a clear message must be sent out that it is racists who are not welcome in our society”, McCann said.

“Criminal and anti-social behaviour has increased greatly over recent years not only in Trim, but in other local areas such as Ballivor, Summerhill and Enfield.
