A SCHOOL targeted by loyalists after it welcomed Sinn Féin Education Minister Caitríona Ruane witnessed further ugly sectarian scenes during a visit by President Mary McAleese this week.
A small group waving Union Jack flags hurled sectarian abuse at McAleese and her husband as they arrived at Millburn Primary school in Coleraine, County Derry on Tuesday, 10 June.
The North’s Education Minister Caitríona Ruane who visited the same school last year, again amid loyalist protests, condemned the sectarian demonstration.
John Platt, Principal of the school, which serves a staunchly unionist area said those behind the protests were people “not terribly keen on change”.
