Meath Sinn Féin AGM

Over 100 republicans from all over County Meath attended the Meath Sinn Féin Annual General Meeting on Sunday last in the Ardboyne Hotel. Outgoing Cathaoirleach John Lynch delivered the Cathaoirleach’s report and detailed the events of a very busy year for the party locally and nationally. Events included in the report were the North of Ireland Policing debate, Sinn Féin entering government in the North of Ireland, the General election in the South of Ireland, the co-option of Peadar Tóibín and Caroline Lynch onto the local councils and the setting up of new Cumann in Meath. An outline of an extensive work plan of party development for the coming year was delivered by party Organiser Darren O Ruairc.
A new Officer Board was selected to serve in 2008. This following were the selected; Cllr Joe Reilly as Cathaoirleach, Eileen Shields as Leas Cathaoirleach, Eddie Fennessy as Runaí, Eugene MacLoughlin and Phil Shaw as Cisteoir and Cllr Peadar Tóibín as PRO, Fonsaí Mac Fhirléinn as Education Officer, John Lynch as Campaigns Officer, Ken Foley as Councillors Group Convenor, Caoimhe Ní Shluáin as Ógra Officer, Maria De Faoite as Equality Officer, Jamie Ó Tuama as Cultural Officer, Darren O Ruairc as Organiser and Matt Lundy as Recruitment Officer.
