The march was attended by 200 local activists and supporters, as well as relatives of Martin Savage from Ballisodare in County Sligo.  Sinn Féin Councillor Felix Gallagher, candidate for Sinn Féin in Dublin West, chaired the proceedings.
The commemoration was addressed by Mary Lou McDonald, Sinn Féin’s Dublin MEP and candidate for Dublin Central in the next general election.
The main address was delivered by Conor Murphy, Sinn Féin MP for Newry-Armagh.
Both McDonald and Murphy addressed issues in the ongoing negotiations around the peace process and stressed the importance of the electoral challenges that lie ahead of Sinn Féin on both sides of the border in the coming months.
