Manchester Martyrs Commemoration

Councillors Donnachadh Ó Sé and Cionnaith Ó Súilleabháin with some of those who attended the Manchester Martyrs Commemoration in Bandon

Republicans from all parts of the country gathered in Bandon, County Cork last weekend for the annual Manchester Martyrs commemoration. Hosted by the local Charlie Hurley Cumann, Sinn Féin, the weekend was a great success with all events being well attended.

Speaking at the main ceremony on Sunday 19 November Aengus Ó Snodaigh TD stressed the importance of republicans remaining calm and focussed during the present phase of the struggle. In thanking the large attendance for turning out in such inclement weather Ó Snodaigh said that it is of the utmost importance that Sinn Féin continues to build political strength so that republicans can maintain momentum towards their ultimate aim of a 32-County Republic.
