Community fights back

On Friday 15 April, residents of the Lower Falls area in West Belfast sent out a clear message to the thugs involved in anti-social activity in the area that their behaviour will not be tolerated, when they organised a fun day of events for all the community.

Children enjoyed face painting, wall climbing, boxing tournaments and bouncy castles.

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams and West Belfast MLA Fra McCann were on hand to unveil a mural dedicated to the community's past and present, aptly entitled 'A Community Once Again'.

"The community, by pulling together in this event, is showing the ones causing the problems that they are not going to win," said McCann.
