Laois republicans visit Belfast

Members of the James Fintan Lalor Cumann, Portlaoise, the William Brock Cumann, Mountmellick, and various community workers from around County Laois travelled to Belfast on Saturday 27 November for an educational weekend.

The trip entailed visiting republican historical sites, meeting with community workers and residents in the Short Strand, Ardoyne and Clonard, meeting Fra McCann MLA and Councillor Margaret McClenaghan and meeting with republicans and unionists. The group were also given a tour of the Shankill.

The weekend was a great success and was enjoyed by all. The Laois delegation were most grateful to their host, Danny Power, and everyone else who played a part over the weekend.
