First Ógra Student Forum

On Wednesday 3 November, the first All-Ireland Student Forum will take place, organised by Ógra Shinn Féin in Trinity College Dublin. The aim is to unlock the potential within the student body across the island to further the republican ideal on an all Ireland basis.

Trinity College was decided as the venue because of its geographical position. The forum will begin at 11am and will involve workshops about student issues such as the value of a 32-County education system, the place of education within republicanism, etc. This will be followed by a presentation given by Martina Anderson on Sinn Féin's All-Ireland agenda. Guest speakers from the teaching unions, the Union of Students of Ireland and members of Sinn Féin will also address the group.

The forum will include full question and answer/discussion sessions and will also feature a talk on An Phoblachts' educational value for students. While the day will focus mainly on student issues, anyone with an interest in education or teaching is welcome.
