A new National Anthem for an inclusive united Ireland?

With regard to Ireland's present national anthem, this would no longer suffice as Ireland's national song when Irish unity is ultimately achieved. We will require a new anthem for a 32 county pluralist unified state. It is important that any new anthem is inclusive of both traditions on the island and that it should be bilingual to reflect equality and parity of esteem.

After watching the All Ireland Gaelic Semi Final between Fermanagh and Mayo last week it was striking to see that while the Fermanagh team and their supporters sung the anthem in Fluent gaelic, the Mayo team and their following did not appear to do so. This emphasises the need for a future united Ireland anthem to be a bilingual one so that both Gaelic and English speakers find themselves included in the national identity.
