Fermanagh Council backs Lisburn SF stance

Sinn Féin's Lisburn Councillor Paul Butler has welcomed the news that Fermanagh Council has passed a motion support his Sinn Féin's campaign for power sharing in Lisburn Council.

Fermanagh Council called on Lisburn Council to implement power sharing arrangements to make the council more representative.

"This motion is an endorsement of what Sinn Féin has been saying all along; that Lisburn is not a normal functioning democratic council, but one that practices discrimination and exclusion," said Butler.

"Lisburn council can no longer defend its position as being a fair and representative council. It should now take heed of what Fermanagh council are saying and implement power sharing arrangements which will make Lisburn a more fairer and representative council."
