Wicklow SF launches election campaign

Sinn Féin in Wicklow officially launched its election campaign at the La Touche Hotel in Greystones on Monday night last.

The meeting, which was very well attended, was opened by Sinn Féin Vice President Pat Doherty and chaired by Kilcoole man David Gahan, Sinn Féin's nominated candidate in the forthcoming 11 June local elections.

Also present on the night were Marie Gavighan, Bray local and County Council candidate and John Brady, Sinn Féin's chosen candidate in the Bray West Ward. Adrian O'Reilly, who is contesting the Arklow Urban and County Council areas, was also present, together with Eamonn Long, who will be contesting the Wicklow Urban and County Council Districts. Gerry O'Neill from Blessington in West Wicklow, was also on the platform and will be fighting the elections in that area.

Pat Doherty spoke of the amazing growth of the party right across the island over the last number of years. A question and answer session followed. Doherty concluded the evening by urging those present to "continue doing what republicans only know best, working tirelessly within our communities year in year out, and working diligently towards our goals".
