Cavan picks Donal Carlin

West Cavan Sinn Féin delegates have selected Colombia 3 campaigner Donal Carlin to contest a seat on Cavan County Council in the upcoming local elections. Carlin, as spokesperson for the James Crossan/Kieran Doherty Cumann in Ballyconnell, has been prominent in organising fundraising and publicity events in aid of the three Irish men being held unjustly in a Bogota jail.

Speaking at a sponsored cross-border walk held recently between Derrylin and Ballyconnell in Cavan, Carlin praised the participants from Belfast, Dublin, Meath and Cavan in their efforts in raising over €3,000 towards the Bring Them Home campaign's costs.

He called on all republican representatives in the local and European elections to highlight the continuing plight of James Monaghan, Martin McCauley and Niall Connolly.
