SF candidates selected in Milford and Letterkenny

Sinn Féin has selected candidates to contest next year's local election in Milford and Letterkenny town.

The Milford convention, which took place on Sunday in the Milford Hotel, unaminously selected 22-year-old Donal Cullen from Devlinreagh, Carrigart, as the sole Sinn Féin candidate to contest the county council election in the Milford electoral Area. Donal Cullen is a History and Politics student in Magee College, Derry. A prominent member of the party in the Milford area, he is Chairperson of the Joseph Duffy Cumann in the Meevagh parish.

The Letterkenny town convention, which also took place on Sunday, unaminously selected former Sinn Féin Ard Chomhairle member, Gerry McMonagle, as their sole candidate. McMonagle is a prominent community activist in Letterkenny, sitting on the management committee of the Letterkenny Community Development Project. He is also the chairperson of the annual Glencar Funweek event. He works as an outreach and development worker for the Abhaile Arís project in Letterkenny.
