Daughter of Sinn Féin activist killed in road crash

South Antrim Councillor Martin Meehan has expressed his deepest sympathy to Antrim Sinn Féin Chairman Paddy Murray and his family on the tragic death of his daughter, Frances.

The 12-year-old girl was struck by a motorcycle as she crossed the Stewartstown Road on the outskirts of West Belfast at around 2.20pm on Monday 27 October.

Paddy Murray said that his family has been left stunned by the loss. Young Frances had spent most of her young life battling leukaemia.

"This was a tragic accident and our thoughts are with Frances's father, mother Brenda and her brother Patrick at this sorrowful time," said Martin Meehan.
