British minister breaks promise over Pat Finucane inquiry

MURDER PLANNED AND CARRIED OUT BY BRITISH ARMY AND RUC AGENTS WESTMINSTER DELAYS PROBE DECISION AGAIN

Pat Finucane

THE WIFE of Pat Finucane, the human rights lawyer whose assassination in his north Belfast home by the UDA in 1989 is suspected to be an act of collusion between the unionist death squad and British crown forces, has accused Secretary of State Owen Paterson of breaking his promise about taking a decision on a public inquiry.
Pat Finucane was shot dead by the UDA on Sunday 12th February 1989. He was shot 14 times as he, wife Geraldine and their three children sat down to a family meal.
Geraldine Finucane, who was wounded in the attack, said:
“Secretary of State Owen Paterson told me in March this year that he would make his decision after the Assembly elections as he was in the final stages of taking that decision. I am disappointed that he has not kept his promise.
“I am also very unhappy that no reason has been provided to me for this delay. Neither correspondence nor contact has been made to the family’s legal representative or me informing us that the decision has been put back and will be dealt with after the House of Commons recess.
“It is an untenable and insensitive situation and confirms my belief that the policy of delay continues.”
