Paddy Tennyson Obituary

The recent and untimely death of Paddy Tennyson has deprived the republican family of a dedicated activist and a committed comrade. Paddy, a lifelong republican, was chair of the McCreesh/McCabe cumann in Mullaghbawn, South Armagh, for many years.

The South Armagh community displayed their respect for Paddy's contribution to the republican struggle by turning out in their hundreds to attend his funeral and support his family.

Paddy was determined in his principles for a free Ireland, he supported the vote of the Irish people for the Good Friday Agreement as a way forward to achieve the peace he longed for, for his family, his community and his country.

He died as he lived, respected by all who knew his contribution to the cause of Irish freedom.

Those of us who were privileged to experience his quiet determination on behalf of the republican struggle salute a comrade who will be dearly missed
