August 20th marks the death of Michael Devine, the 10th republican hunger striker to die in 1981. Born in Derry, Devine grew up in the tumult of the civil rights protests, internment and Bloody Sunday in January 1972. He died after 60 days on hunger strike. PAT SHEEHAN, a 52-year-old Gaeilgeoir, is a republican former Hunger Striker from the Falls Road in west Belfast. He is the widower of Sinn Féin activist Siobhan O’Hanlon, who passed away from cancer in 2006. Pat is the father of their 11-year-old son.
