Keady man co-opted onto Armagh Council

DARREN McNALLY has been co-opted onto Armagh Council to represent the Crossmore Ward replacing his colleague, Newry/ Armagh Sinn Féin MLA Cathal Boylan.
Councillor McNally (31) from Keady is the father of a young family and played a key role in directing Cathal Boylan’s campaign in last year’s successful Assembly elections.
Commenting on his co-option McNally said:
“As local Councillors we must work in partnership with communities so that in particular we make it possible for communities to protect and care for the weak, the vulnerable and the aged. It is also essential that issues of concern raised by local residents and communities are given prompt attention by highlighting and addressing them”.
Sinn Féin Group leader on Armagh City and District Council, Cathy Rafferty said McNally would be a great benefit “not only to the Armagh Sinn Féin Council team but to the Crossmore area. He is widely recognised as an articulate, committed and caring person who has an awareness of issues of concern both locally and nationally”.
Newry and Armagh MLA Cathal Boylan congratulating Darren on his co-option said that he would make an excellent local representative.
