Other NewsBook launch on history of Sinn Féin in LaoisSINN FÉIN will launch a book on 100 years of the party in Laois on Tuesday 4 December at 8pm in the Parish Centre in Portlaoise.The book, compiled by Gerry Quinn, secretary of Sinn Féin’s Laois/Offaly Comhairle Ceantair, contains previously unpublished material. The foreword is by Gerry Adams and guest speaker at the launch is Sinn Féin Senator Pearse Doherty. Laois Sinn Féin Councillor Brian Stanley said the book, based on factual evidence, will “counter some of the propaganda that has been presented as history by revisionist historians”. He explained: “In particular, it will refute the allegation that republicans stole their election victory in the historic 1918 general election.
