Hosted by the local Charlie Hurley Cumann, Sinn Féin, the weekend was a great success with all events being well attended. Speaking at the main ceremony on Sunday 19 November Aengus Ó Snodaigh TD stressed the importance of republicans remaining calm and focussed during the present phase of the struggle. In thanking the large attendance for turning out in such inclement weather Ó Snodaigh said that it is of the utmost importance that Sinn Féin continues to build political strength so that republicans can maintain momentum towards their ultimate aim of a 32-County Republic.
