British collusion unravelling

The failed attempt on the life of Mark Haddock and the imminent publication of the Six County Ombudsman's report into British state collusion with the UVF is expected to expose the close working relationship between Haddock and Special Branch aswell as Special Branch efforts to cover up over a dozen murders.

Following the release of Ken Barrett, the loyalist gang member and Special Branch agent involved in the murder of human rights solicitor Pat Finnucane and amidst reports that the McEntee investigation into the Dublin/Monaghan bombings is making significant progress, there is a momentum building up which may further expose British state collusion with unionist paramilitaries.

Darren Moore, a former close friend of Haddock's, was charged with his attempted murder on 2 June. Speculation is rife that Haddock may decide to provide information leading to the arrest of other unionist paramilitaries. One newspaper report has linked dock to the arrest
