Video – Mural remembers Volunteers from Ardoyne, Bone and Ligoniel

HUNDREDS of republican activists from across the Ardoyne, Bone and Ligoniel areas of north Belfast joined with the families and friends of local republicans who gave their lives in the struggle for Irish freedom at the rededication of a mural in Ardoyne.

The main speaker at the event (organised by the Ardoyne, Bone, Ligoniel Commemoration Committee) was local republican Robert Crawford, who spent over 20 years in British jails.

Twenty-six Volunteers from the areas lost their lives during the most recent phase of armed conflict.

Fourteen other people from the areas also died.
