Protest at race attacks
WEST BELFAST anti-racism group West Against Racism Network called on people from across the city on to the streets of West Belfast on Tuesday 10 June in a show of solidarity with the 36-year-old Nigerian man who was the victim of a race attack in the Sliabh Dubh estate on Monday 9 June in broad daylight, according to Flair Campbell of WARN.
Since that attack, it has been reported that a 45-year-old man was assaulted by two young males at his umbrella and fancy goods stall near the H&M store on Belfast’s Royal Avenue. Two men are being questioned by police after passersby intervened during the evening rush-hour around 5:30pm.
