Francis Hughes remembered

REPUBLICAN activists gathered in West Belfast on Monday 12 May to mark the 33rd anniversary of H-Blocks martyr Francis Hughes.

The South Derry republican was the second man to die on hunger strike in 1981.

Among those taking part in the white-line picket were former POWs and Sinn Féin election candidates Matt Garrett and Caoimhín Mac Giolla Mhín.
