Sinn Féin poll rating up 3 points to 21%
Gerry Adams is up 6 points to 33%, making him the most popular party leader
SINN FÉIN’S opinion poll rating has risen 3 points to 21% in a new Irish Times/Ipsos MRBI survey published on Friday.
Gerry Adams is up 6 points to 33%, making him the most popular party leader.
Fianna Fáil shows no change at 26%, Fine Gael drops 1 to 24%, and Labour trails at just 9% (down 1).
Independents/Others (which covers everyone from Michael Lowry to Joe Higgins) are down 2 to 18% and the Green Party seems to have grown a little – from 1% to 2%.
The poll was taken on Monday and Tuesday “among a representative sample” of 1,000 voters in all Dáil constituencies.
The margin of error is plus or minus 3%.
In the leadership stakes, Gerry Adams is in front at 33%, ahead of Fianna Fáil leader Mícheál Martin at 31% (up 2%) and Enda Kenny on 30% (down 1%).
Labour leader and Tánaiste Eamon Glimore is the most unpopular leader in the Dáil at 16%.
