Nakba Week – IPSC marks 65th anniversary of Palestinian catastrophe and resistance
WEDNESDAY 15 May 2013 will be the 65th anniversary of ‘Nakba Day’, the day on which Palestinians all over the world remember the 1947/48 Nakba, the Palestinian catastrophe which saw the forcible expulsion of over 750,000 indigenous Palestinians from their homes to facilitate the creation of the Zionist state of Israel.
The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign is hosting a series of Nakba Week events up until 17 May. The events include a speaking tour by Palestinian activist, farmer and former political prisoner Mousa Abu Maria in Belfast, Cork, Limerick and Dublin, along with protests, a moving gallery, and street information stalls.
