'NATO or neutrality?' Public debate in Dublin, Tuesday 14 May
DEFENCE MINISTER Alan Shatter is interviewed in the current issue of NATO Review in which he states that neutrality “doesn’t have any major relevance” in the West’s “war against terrorism”.
His government's new aviation policy also seeks additional military flights through Shannon Airport and it has committed Irish troops to a "generational" war in North Africa and is planning to send more.
“What is on offer from this Fine Gael/Labour Government is active Irish involvement in perpetual war,” the Peace and Neutrality Alliance says.
