ISRAELI SETTLERS evicted from the illegal outpost of Migron retaliated on Sunday by trying to burn down the Latrun Christian Monastery in the West Bank and spraying its walls with slogans, including “Jesus is a monkey”.

Rabbi Gilad Kariv, head of Reform Judaism in Israel, told the Reuters news agency that “as an Israeli citizen” he is “ashamed and deeply troubled” by the attacks.
Senior Palestinian peace negotiator Saeb Erekat says he holds the Israeli authorities fully responsible and the settlers’ campaign of intimidation “amounts to terrorism”.
