O'Dowd Welcomes Commitment from Foster to meet any New Owners of First Trust

A commitment from the DETI Minister Arlene Foster to meet any new owners of First Trust bank to discuss existing staffs job security and continued investment by the bank, has been welcomed by Sinn Féin MLA John O’Dowd.

Foster made her commitment when responding to a question from O’Dowd in the Assembly on Tuesday.
“While justifiable public anger has been directed towards the banking system no one should confuse the leaders of such banks with the staff who work in them to secure their homes and families like so many other workers,” he said.
“I welcome the commitment given by Minister Foster to meet with any new owners of the First Trust bank, this will give a clear indication to potential new owners that the Executive is prepared to work with Business to help it succeed and to staff that the Executive listen to and works for them.”
