IRIS - latest edition OUT NOW!

The latest edition of IRIS, the republican magazine is out next week.
The ever-popular publication carries a keynote article by Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams on republican strategy for Irish unity. As the Sinn Féin leadership examines the report of a special Task Force on the issue, Gerry Adams’s article is intended to encourage and empower the debate.
IRIS also features a special tribute to former leading Irish republican John Joe McGirl on the 20th anniversary of his death. A former Sinn Féin Vice President, McGirl’s republican activism spanned a period of five decades that saw imprisonment in the Curragh, Mountjoy and Long Kesh.
Also included in latest edition of the magazine are articles dealing with the latest ‘history war’ over the legacy of the First World War and the remembrance of those Irish people who died. Dublin republican Mícheál Mac Donncha analyses the key events of World War 1 and the first all-Ireland election in 1918 from an anti-imperialist and republican perspective and debunks many of the myths around these events currently being pedaled by revisionist historians and anti-republican media commentators.
There is also an article marking the 100th anniversary of ‘the first Sinn Féin election’ in 1908 and a number of book reviews.
