Derry Grand Draw date looms

The Grand Draw organised by The Derry Republican Graves Association is nearing the actual draw date. The draw which, has £20,000 in cash prizes up for grabs, will take place on Sunday 26 June at the Gasyard Centre at 7pm.

Pius McNaught one of the organisers, says "we have received a great response across the town from people buying the tickets. They have been priced at £50 so we have established clubs in each area to give people the chance to pay on a weekly basis. The fact that we have restricted the amount of tickets to 1,200 also gives people a better opportunity of cashing in with a prize. The main prize is £10,000 cash, second is for £5,000, and we have another 18, ranging from £1,000 to £100, with a number of TV/DVD combis as well."

Pius is calling on anyone who has final payments on their tickets to settle them as soon as possible and emphasises that there is still a small number of tickets available if anyone wishes to buy one now.

The format of the draw will be an exciting event. The organisers have decided to let those whose tickets are drawn choose from 20 envelopes that will have the prizes concealed in them — effectively the individual will be choosing their own prize. If a ticket is drawn and the person is not present, then a member of the committee will choose the envelope on their behalf and reveal the prize to those present.

"We would like to thank everyone who has helped organise the draw and those who bought tickets. People in Derry are well aware of the good work that the Graves Association does and this draw will ensure the continuance of that good work," says Pius.
