Sinn Féin TD Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin has said that he will be visiting the Sellafield nuclear plant at the end of the month to demand its closure by British Nuclear Fuels and the British government. Sinn Féin general election candidate for Sligo/Leitrim, Councillor Seán MacManus, has called on the Minister for the Environment, Noel Dempsey, to scrap the government's proposed "Recovery of Organic Waste Regulations, 2001", which he believes could wipe out small farmers.
