A teenager escaped with his life after a loyalist gang attacked him as he walked home along the Antrim Road, North Belfast, at around 12.30am on Sunday morning 5 December. A Turkish national is accusing the PSNI of racially abusing and assaulting him in Belfast city centre on Saturday 27 November. Musa Gulusen (36), who has lived in Belfast for more than a decade, said he was called a "kebab boy" during PSNI raids on unlicensed stalls in Belfast's Royal Avenue and claimed he was surrounded by PSNI men who forced him to the ground and held his arms behind his back. Three Polish men were attacked in a public house in the Waterside area of Derry, the latest racist attack on the Polish community in the city in the last week. The men were assaulted as they had a drink in the Upstairs Downstairs bar on the Dungiven Road at around 2.30am on Sunday 5 December. Charges against PSNI man dropped A charge of dangerous driving brought against a PSNI member after an investigation by the Police Ombudsman's Office was dropped at a Belfast Court on Monday 29 November.

GP-only medical cards a quarter of the value Sinn Féin Dáil leader and Health spokesperson, Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin, has revealed that the promised GP-only medical card will be only a quarter of the value of the real Medical Card. In reply to a Dáil Question from Ó Caoláin, the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children, Mary Harney, stated that while the GP-only card will cost approximately €250 per year, the cost per year of the full medical card is €1,000 per year.
