Unjust deportations must be stopped 
Sinn Féin TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh has warned against the threat of larger deportations of immigrants after attending a rally outside the Progressive Democrat offices on Tuesday. The rally was held to protest the deportation this week of Nigerian woman Kate Bamidele, who fled to Ireland after being sentenced to death by stoning. At least 18 Greek construction workers have been killed on construction sites in the rush to get Athens ready for the Olympic Games, according to the Athens Labour Centre. Diana Buttu, a senior advisor to the PLO's negotiations team, who was in West Belfast during this year's Féile an Phobail, was invited by Relatives for Justice to unveil the seventh panel of the organisation's Remembrance Quilt. 
Donegal Sinn Féin members joined a youth delegation from the Basque Country for a vigil in Letterkenny last Friday. The delegation is touring Ireland to speak about the repression endured by their country at the hands of the Spanish state. Sinn Féin Cllr Gerry McMonagle, who joined the vigil, said Irish people shared a strong solidarity with the Basque people and he called on the Spanish Government to enter into peace negotiations |
