Dublin/Monaghan bombings - families seek justice The families of the victims of the greatest mass murder in the history of Ireland, the Dublin and Monaghan bombings of May 1974 have been delayed in their campaign for justice, as High Court Judge Mary Lavoy will not pass judgement until 27 August. The families want the court to compel gardai to release documents in their possession relating to the bombings in which 33 people were murdered, and 240 were injured. People power forces flats demolition Cork Corporation councilors under the watchful eyes of over fifty residents and community activists voted on Monday night to reject a developer's plan for the Blackpool flats and instead to write to the Minister for the Environment calling for their demolition. The campaign for the flats demolition has been ongoing for a number of years and has cropped up as an election issue numerous times. Promises have been made but never kept. Government urged to honour drugs pledge The new government has been challenged to honour the pledge of the previous administration to give major funding to community drugs projects. The credibility of the witness who is at the centre of the RUC prosecution case against Lurgan man Collie Duffy (29), of Drumnamoe Gardens was challenged at a Belfast High Court bail hearing on 29 July.
