THE MURDER of West Belfast man Harry Holland has stunned the local community. Harry was fatally wounded when he was stabbed in the head with a screwdriver while confronting car thieves as they tried to steal his greengrocer's delivery van late on Tuesday, 11 September. Outrage at PSNI use of CS gas

Public outcry has accompanied the release of figures detailing PSNI deployment of CS gas within the last three years. Since CS gas canisters became standard kit in July 2004 the PSNI have deployed the spray almost 1,000 times. In other words the PSNI have used CS gas almost every day. Free article

BBC editor resigns from RAF post

A BBC editor has resigned his post within the British military after Sinn Féin raised conflict of interest concerns. RAF wing commander Mike Cairns resigned as OC 7644 VR Squadron after Sinn Féin complained that his work as a public relations officer for the RAF was incompatible with his job as a high-ranking BBC editor.
