The presence of the Gardaí and Special Branch at the 65th anniversary of the Barnes/McCormick commemoration in Offaly on Sunday last was an obvious reminder that the Dublin Government are prepared to use every tool disposed to them to try to openly intimidate and frighten republicans. Free article

De Brún opens Armagh Constituency Office

Sinn Féin MEP Bairbre de Brún concluded a long day of engagements in Newry/Armagh last week by opening the new Sinn Féin Constituency Office in Armagh City. She commended Sinn Féin activists in Armagh City and District on their hard work and dedication to the people of the district. Free article

Margaret McKenna

The funeral of former Sinn Féin Councillor Margaret McKenna took place on Wednesday 9 February. Margaret's remains, draped in the National flag, left her home in the townland of Ballymacpeake before proceeding to St Mary's Church, Lavey, County Derry, for Requiem Mass and burial in the adjoining cemetery. Mary McCourt

The death of Mary McCourt of Dunaldron, Monaghan, in the early hours of Friday 11 February at St Mary's Hospital, Castleblayney, has caused great sorrow for her grieving husband Patsy and all her family. Mary is also greatly mourned by the republican community throughout County Monaghan and beyond. Free article

South Derry remembers John Davey

Nationalists from throughout South Derry, North Antrim, and further afield came together at a bitterly cold graveyard in Gulladuff on Sunday last to remember Sinn Féin Councillor John Davey, who was assassinated by loyalists in collusion with local crown forces 16 years ago. Free article

Poignant 30th anniversary commemoration for Sligo Volunteer

On a bright sunny morning in Sooey, County Sligo, the 30th anniversary of the death of IRA Volunteer Kevin Coen was remembered last month. The largest republican commemoration in the county in recent years attracted people from Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and from as far afield as America and Australia. A further indication of the growth of Sinn Féin in recent years was the large number of public representatives in attendance. Free article

Wear an Easter Lily

The Easter Lily was designed in 1925 by Cumann na mBan. Its dual purpose was to raise money for the Republican Prisoners' Dependents Fund and to honour the sacrifice made by the men and women of the 1916 Rising. Free article

Adams visits Spain, Catalonia and the Basque country
