Crowe calls on Brennan to scrap Airports Bill

Sinn Féin TD and Transport spokesperson Seán Crowe has called on Minister Séamus Brennan to scrap his State Airports Bill. Crowe has described the minister's actions as "scandalous and irresponsible". The Minister is "pushing a privatisation agenda against all advice", says Crowe. Free article
Death of Mary Holland

Former Irish Times journalist Mary Holland died on Monday night after an illness. Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams expressed condolences to Kitty and Luke Holland on the death of their mother. Adams said: "Mary was a very courageous journalist who will be missed by all who knew her." Also, former An Phoblacht editor RITA O'HARE pays tribute to her friend. Free article
Charter for Senior Citizens

Republican victory in Queen's University election

At the end of last month, the students of Queen's University in Belfast elected five members of the Sheena Campbell Sinn Féin Cumann, which is based in the Belfast university, onto the executive of Queen's Students Union. Among those elected were Patrick Hughes as Vice-President, tipped for the presidency next year, and Caolan Campbell, who was elected to the position of Post Graduate Officer. Free article
