A report released on Thursday 13 May shows that racially motivated and homophobic attacks across the Six Counties have almost doubled in the last year. The report was released just days after a woman was assaulted in a race attack in Belfast and a teenager was injured in a homophobic attack in Derry. Free article

Soccer star Neil Lennon may be forced to leave Glasgow Celtic after yet another sectarian attack directed against the 32-year-old this weekend. Lennon awoke last Sunday morning to find " You are a dead man" and other sectarian slogans scrawled on the walls outside his home. Free article

Ferris slams government stance on GM

The Sinn Féin Dáil spokesperson on Agriculture, Martin Ferris TD, has launched a strong attack on the Coalition Government's role in lifting the EU embargo on Genetically Modified food. Deputy Ferris was speaking as the EU Commission moved on Wednesday morning to lift the ban on a genetically modified maize. Free article
