Grimes to run in Drumlish/North Longford

AT a well-attended convention in the Old Village Inn, Drumlish, County Longford, on Friday 28 November, Ciarán Grimes was selected as the Sinn Féin candidate for the Drumlish/North Longford ward in next June’s local elections.
The meeting, chaired by Gerry Farrell, was addressed by Ireland West EU election candidate, Pádraig Mac Lochlainn.
Ciarán Grimes was formally proposed by Councillor Brendan Farrell and seconded by John Joe Kiernan.
In accepting the nomination, Ciarán Grimes appealed to all members and supporters to come out and help in the campaign.
“Everyone has their part to play, whether it is by canvassing, postering, fund-raising or one of the many other activities necessary to a successful campaign.”
He also announced he will be holding a pre-campaign meeting with his supporters to plan strategy and prepare an immediate workplan. Anyone wishing to help can contact Ciarán at 087 751 4607.
